Advances in Phlebology, the science of varicose vein treatment, have recently emphasized three major principles for the benefit of the patient: 1. Evaluation of the cause of the problem: The entire leg is examined with the help of duplex ultrasound to discover the source of reflux. 2. Treatment from large to small: Larger abnormal veins are treated first because they are responsible for the abnormal small veins. 3. Dr. Kreitmann is a Board-Certified obstetrician gynecologist in practice since 1986. In the last 10 years he has trained in the practice of Phlebology through the American College of Phlebology and some of the best renowned physicians in Baltimore, MD and Jacksonville, FL. He is no longer practicing obstetrics so he devotes more time in the evaluation and treatment of patients suffering from vein disease.
